* This is a message from David Kim, our
first volunteer to Motherly Care Home in Nairobi, Kenya.
"I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart
for helping me to get here. I HAVE FOUND MY CALLING!!!
All the events in the past few month have lead me to this
place and I know God has had a guiding hand in all of
it. I truly believe the work I have been involved with
in the past few years has prepared me for this work. God
works in mysterious ways in indeed I believe he has brought
me here today because there is so much work that needs
to be done.
For so many years I have been searching for something
to fill the void in my heart and I have a peace now that
I have not felt since when I can't remember. PLEASE CONTINUE
TO PRAY FOR ME AND MCCH."
July 2006
1. The Rotary Club of Beltsville acknowledges Reaching
Hearts for Kids services by adding us on its list of recipients
of contributions: "…I am pleased to send you the enclosed
check for 2005-2006…We appreciate the outstanding service
that your organization continues to provide…Please keep
up the good work."
2. Our First Volunteer
Reaching Hearts for Kids received an e-mail from a young
businessman, David Kim, from Nevada who is leaving his
successful career to make a difference in this world.
David is getting his final arrangements before he leaves
soon to Nairobi, Kenya, to help at Motherly Care Home.
Pray for David and we will keep you posted of David's
impact. David was referred to us by Amistad International
in California.
June 2006
1. Reaching Hearts for Kids, in partnership with Global
Vessels, under the direction of Frazier Mathis, is planning
a mission trip to Ombo, Ethiopia in June 2007 to help
build an orphanage. A team of local medical doctors and
dentists will join us to screen our children and help
people in the community. If you wish to be part of a mission
trip, please contact us. We are also in the process of
organizing a medical team to travel to Indonesia. We will
keep you updated on the details of this trip as it develops.
2. For the past three years, teachers at Faith Baptist
School in Laurel, Maryland, led by Liz Young, have been
encouraging students and parents to donate food and clothing
to Reaching Hearts for Kids so that we could serve kids
in the community. Not only are they helping children,
but also teaching their students about the importance
of caring. During their vacation Bible school in
summer of 2005, their children donated funds to sponsor
one child for one year. Thank you.
